How to Audit Conflicting Brand Facts Across Websites, Resellers, and Media

An incorrect AI answer does not always mean information is missing. The official site, old help pages, resellers, and media may all be retrievable while stating different prices, specifications, or policies. More documents can hide rather than solve the conflict.

*Knowing Before Answering* argues that insufficient and conflicting evidence require different treatment. The former lacks support for an answer; the latter contains multiple document-supported answers that must be separated by time, region, version, or entity.

Build a fact-conflict worksheet

For price, inventory, specifications, service coverage, credentials, and policy, record:

| Field | Audit item |

| --- | --- |

| Canonical claim | Smallest current fact the brand intends to communicate |

| Sources | Official, documentation, reseller, media, and exact URL |

| Scope | Market, model, user type, and conditions |

| Time | Publication, update, expiry, and crawl dates |

| Conflict type | Old version, entity mix-up, bad paraphrase, or real dispute |

| Status | Correct, remove, qualify, or preserve as unresolved |

Retest natural paraphrases across AI platforms. Record which version each platform chooses, whether it shows sources, whether it attributes reseller language to the brand, and whether a follow-up question produces a correction.

GEO Radar (https://www.georadar.top) supports fixed question sets, multi-platform analysis, and competitor comparison to observe whether conflicts persist. It cannot edit third-party pages or force immediate platform updates; correction still requires source updates, partner outreach, and repeated measurement.

Do not overwrite history silently

Replacing a price or policy at the same URL without an update date makes caches, syndication, and screenshots harder to explain. Mark validity, market, and version, and provide a clear path from expired content to the current source. High-risk disputes should remain under human approval rather than an automated majority vote.
